Hope that piece of granite is really heavy - that's quite the piece of wood!

If you collected it yourself I'd test it with some cheapo fish (in a big pale?) before taking the plunge. I made that mistake once.

Yes it's very heavy, I didn't weigh it but I'm guessing the whole thing is about 35 lbs. It's actually one piece of wood and one piece of granite. The only adjustment I made was to cut off about 12" from one side because it was too long. I got lucky, the natural shape of the stone was a perfect fit to the wood. The wood came from a local lake and the stone from a small mine near my house.
I was very careful, it was a little tight going in but really no problem.

Excellent idea wetman. I hope those old waders I have still fit. Too bad I've already ordered the driftwood for the 55.
