I have a beautiful piece of driftwood and have reservations about how to sterilize it for tank use. I would boil it but it is to big. I would bake it but it's full of water and I don't know what temperature to bake it at. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Really, I would think that if baked for long enough pretty much any temp over 100'C would be sufficient. After-all, boiling won't go above that.

I just did a bunch of driftwood that was too big to boil. I used a very large plastic container (that has never housed anything chemical and is clean) and placed it in our tub and used our hot tap water (we get really hot tap water) to sterilize it. I am doing several cycles of this...and I scrubbed it w/ my "aquarium" toothbrush.

Pour some boiling water on it as it sits in a clean container then let it soak for awhile.
