- Depth: 10km
- Struck at 4.35am on a Saturday, most people were asleep in their homes, therefore the larger buildings would not collapse on them
- The epicenter of the quake was 40km West of Christchurch
- 0 Missing
- 0 Fatalities
February 22nd Earthquake
- Magnitude: 6.3
- Depth: 5km
- Struck at 12.51pm on a Tuesday, people were out and about the streets, working, having lunch without suspicions
- The epicenter of the quake was 5km North of Christchurch
- Buildings were also heavily weakened by the original quake
- The majority of the city has no power or water
- 300 People Missing - Currently
- 75 Fatalities - Currently (55 identified, 20 unidentified)

As you can see, yesterdays quake was much more devastating than the original quake.
Prime Minister John Key announces that this may be 'New Zealand's Darkest Day'.
It is unlikely that anyone missing under the rubble is still alive.
Christchurch is receiving help from Australia, USA and Britain. Thanks guys!
