Ok, what am I missing here? According to the directions on my bottle, 1 mL will raise potassium in my 10-gal by 1 mg/L. (4%???? I paid $10 for 4% potassium? Quick, where do I get some KCl?). I dose 2 mL TMG /week, but i'm not really counting that as too much extra K. So am I gonna have to dose 20mL Flourish K between water changes to get 20ppm? I doubt if there's significant amounts in tap water. Someone tell me I'm missing something.

Go to your local grocery store and look for a salt substitute called "Nu-Salt". The potassium chloride content in Nu-Salt is 528 milligrams per 1/8 tsp.

Don't feel too bad, Starry. I bought some Flourish K also, and I use it on a 20 gallon!!! That's 40mL per week. Needless to say I have already picked up my replacement. My product is called "NoSalt"....not "NuSalt".....same thing though. I hear 1/4 tsp is good for a 20 gallon per week (about 20ppm K), so for you I'd add about 1/8 tsp. Much nicer than 40mL, eh?

Save yourself some money. Pick up some powdered KCl or K2SO4
and dose 1/4 tsp. per 20 gals. after water change.
Or, mix up a batch: Combine 1tbsp. with 300mls. water. Shake well and stick in refrigerator. Dose 10mls. 2x weekly for 30 gal tank and up.....1x week for 10 - 30 gal. tanks.

I will, I will! I'm just gonna finish off this bottle first. It might take me that long to find the stuff anyway. Or I could just steal a pocketful from my lab :) It's frustrating cause I work with so many chemicals, but it's not like I can just take some home.
