often SAE are sold as FF and vice versa by the suppliers. the way to tell they are a SAE is the black line goes all the way though the tail.
Flying Foxes also have a gold stripe running above the black one. True SAEs do not. There's actually three similar-looking fish that get sold as Flying Foxes. Many places, including my LFS, refer to SAEs as Siamese Flying Foxes (versus only Flying Foxes).

I've got 5 SAEs and one False SAE (flying fox). The FF is a few years old, and has gotten a little aggressive in his old age, chasing the SAEs around the 75g at times.

I've realized that fish that are "algae eaters" will only eat algae if they are hungry. In a well fed tank, they will ignore algae and wait for better food. Maybe cut back on feeding? That might help it graze on that algae.
