I don't recall having seen the Corys come up to eat, certainly not to the surface. They might have grabbed a bite mid-tank, though.

What stumps me is that all the other fish in the tank have been fine, and I haven't heard of any Cory-specific pathogens.

Very interesting thread. I feed Ken's freeze dried blood worms once/twice a week, and have never soaked them in water before I feed, never had a problem. BUT, I can def see how they could expand in a fish's stomach as RBishop stated. I wonder if anyone else has ever had a problem like this.
