So a local pet shop here in Las Vegas had about 7 of these "freshwater" flounders for sale that they were kept in entirely freshwater. They were on bare bottom glass and super stressed out and I had a sandy 75 gallon I thought would be perfect for them considering they were about 2" long at that point. If anyone has any experience breeding or keeping these fish I am all ears. If all you know is what you can find online then we know the same amount.

Well without the scientific name to be sure, it's probably a brackish water fish. Can you post clear pics of both the top and bottom of the fish?

We tried a "freshwater" flounder many years ago, but as I recall it didn't like any foods we offered. Might have been the "brackish vs fresh" thing, we had no ideas on how to help it. Other fish liked to nip it too...:( A sad experiment
