Green Hair Algae Removal

I picked up a piece of coral from a hobbyist on craigslist but it has some green hair algae growing on it. What is the safest way to remove this from the coral? I only use ro/di water in my tank so I shouldn't have any algae problems and don't want to introduce this into my tank without it gone.

If anyone knows anything please let me know

Possibly pick it off by hand and then gently scrub with an old toothbrush? That's what I would probably do.

the algae is on coral or live rock?

It's on the rock and on the edges of the coral itself.

Just scrub it off with a new tooth brush and watch it. If it comes back just scrub it again - if your water is fine it will not continue to grow.

Hydrogen peroxide kills algea but prob coral also! It turns to oxygen after a few seconds once exposed to the atmosphere
