I only want pleco fish in my tank (I love how they look and wiggle), but Ive read that they can be aggressive to their own species. Should I get one bristlenose pleco and one clown pleco? Someone I know has a few of the same species, and they do not attack each other at all, but there are other fish in the tank.

What size tank do you have? This will be the limiting factor in how many fish you can have in your tank.

Factors depend on species of fish, size of tank, what other fish and how many you have in your tank already, whether you have plants or driftwood, water's chemical balance and temperature.
All about the tank. But if you have the right size, get a male albino bristle nose and two females. They breed very rapidly, but males can be aggressive towards each other if cramped up together, and be slightly territorial. There are a lot of misconceptions though. They will not suck the slime coat off of other fish, and I have never had aggression issues towards other species. Have fun stocking! I love my big ol' male bristle nose pleco. One of my oldest fish.

Plecos tend to be on the aggressive side of fish, i would not recommend them for a community tank but if you're heart is set on plecos MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ENOUGH FOOD, like algea wafers. i had a pleco and i forgot to feed him and he ate one of my fish, make sure to feed him, and if you decide not go go with a pleco another great option is an otto catifish (sooo cute)
I have 6 bn in a 40g breeder with a small sunfish species. I've also had fish that wouldn't share 55g or 90g tanks. My gold nugget was aggressive as hell and got his own 29g. I had 2 royals in the 90g.
Plecos are great community tank occupants. The small ones like clowns and bns especially. They are generally peaceful to all non-pleco species. I have only had one incident where the plecos ate guppies and they were raised in pleco only tanks on only vegetation so they may have been lacking things in their diet. These seem to be isolated, uncommon incidents. Now some other sucker fish that get lumped in with the pleco and usually are just labelled "algae eater" can be a problem. Chinese algae eaters turn aggressive and carnivorous as they grow and will eat your fish.
