Alright mate move your heater in to the sump, and if your going to put sand in your sump you will need to put another peace of glass in front of your first peace were your water comes in to your sump.Because if your water is going under your glass it will have to go through your sand blowing it all over.I had the same tank and had to do the same thing,Chears

thanks buddy.. ive actually already done that in the sump...
ah my heater is too big to fit in the sump!
its the first time i have used eheim jagers and i didnt realise how big
the 300w heater is... so im going to eventually downsize to two smaller
ones so they can both fit in the sump in the refugium most likely.

cheers for your help

Such a nice clean job. you really did do your homework, (minus the heater! ;) ) good idea on getting 2 smaller ones to put in your sump(eventually).

2 questions:

- are you planning on painting the back of your tank, or will you wait for coraline algae to cover it up?

- why are you buying water? I'd strongly suggest investing in an RODI unit.

Looking great! How are you planning on cycling the tank? and have you started looking into what you'll be putting in the tank ?
