is $2 for a krib a good deal?

Kribs can reach 3-4" actually.
not the ones I have. I got them at a fish auction about 6 weeks ago and I don't know anything about them. Neither does the internet. If you can find me some info on pelvicachromis sp. "blue fin" then please, educate me. I got 3 of them for $7 and I was told by another guy there that a breeding pair was worth ~$40 and they bred pretty easy so I was kind of excited. 6 weeks later and I'm just now starting to see them eat, they're boring as hell.

Yup, $2 seems to be a nice price. The only time I saw a krib for $2 was an adult female during a 50% sale at a LFS... Most of the time the price hovers around 6-10 dollars.

goggle "blue fin kribs". all the sites that list a size for your fish will say 3.5-4 inches.
I googled this and found no info at all. I found links to my threads about them on other websites.. What did you come up with?

Nice to have those.:)
any info on them? I keep them in a 10gallon with 5 albino bushy nose plecos that are about 2" now. I have a sand substrate, a real plant, a pieces of slate and a coconut cave that I made. The bushy noses run the coconut cave but they don't bother the blue fins at all. I think I'm going to make 2 more caves in hopes that I can get these guys to spawn.

well, with a bit of looking around maybe they are Pelvicachromis taeniatus "Moliwe", based on comparing your picture of a male (probably a juvenile) with a picture of the species found on the Cichlid Room Companion, obviously a male in top shape:

and also another picture:

a practical fishkeeping article on identification and care:

if this is your fish, they do stay smaller, but not by much, 2.5 inches for females, 3.5 for males. definitely not one inch.

definitely not the same fish but it is close. Mine are blue fins, the people at the auction knew what they were talking about. I still have the bag I got them in and I the breeders last name and phone number, if they're still not doing much in another month or two I will give him a call.

and for the krib.. I just got off work and went to see if they still had the krib for $2 but he was gone. There was some kind of corpse floating around being munched on, it could have been him but it was in too bad of shape for me to tell.
