Catching up - I added a tiny ramshorn to my betta's 2.5 gl bowl. Long story short, the bowl's a lot cleaner, and the snail's a lot bigger. Nice! Yes, there's more poop to clean, but in the long run, the bowl looks a lot better and my old boy seems happier with his new roommate.

Whoops - also forgot to add - the 3gl mini-aquarium is now fully stocked with two glolight neons, 2 rasbora hets, and a ghost shrimp. They're all doing really well.

Update: the ramshorn's doing an awesome job on the algae (although he looks like the swamp thing because he can't clean off his own shell, of course), but he poops. A LOT. So there's a lot more water changing. On the upside, my betta doesn't mind him and he's a lot of fun to watch.

In the 3 gal Eclipse, the two dwarf Ras Hets, two glowlight neons, and one ghost shrimp have formed a very happy little community (we call them the Syndicate) - everyone gets along, no problem, and weekly 25% water changes are keeping the chemistry in balance. They're currently in residence in the kitchen - well away from heat and chemicals, of course - and they seem to love being where the action is.

RT Cam 191919 - Shoot! I'd looked around for killies, but couldn't find any locally and didn't want to take any out of the wild. But these guys actually school together, which was kind of a surprise. I'd never had Rasboras before. I just can't say enough good things about them - they're beautiful little fish and a lot of fun to watch.

I'm hoping to move to a larger place later this year, at which point I'll be looking for a 55-60 tank. That ought to be room enough for a lot more Rasboras and neons (and maybe killies) to keep my guys company.

Get some rams in there and I am pretty sure you'll have a new favorite fish! :)
