The featherfin I had was pretty aggressive to my cichlids and I've heard similar comments about them from others. I just got some bristlenose plecos and they only get to about 6" and are great for keeping the algea maintained.
you want something to like clean the tank and stay at the bottom? or just a fish to stay at the bottom... i would say deff. a catfish or what i just got... an african spotted leaf fish
