lost all of my platy fry :(, now we have an empty 6gal eclipse

It's been warm the past few days, high 80s. We don't have air conditioning in our apartment and we made the mistake of putting the 6gal in a bedroom that gets fairly warm during the day . Today it was in the 90s and we lost all of our fry. The temp of the water reads ~87F, doh.

Ok, so I plan to:
-empty 60-70% of the water
-move the tank into the kitchen where it's cooler (very little sunlight) and away from any appliances
-fill the tank back up
-add some fish


The tank has been running for 2 months and all of the water tests are normal. I was thinking of getting 2-3 fancy guppies. Yes, no?

You could do that but I would keep the tank of to the side and use it as a hospital tank or wait for another group of fry and try again.
