How to anchor? It floats at all times. I've sort of stopped it by placing rocks on the corners, but the area around the middle is above the substrate. Any solutions? I also want it to grow, it hasn't fully carpeted my tank.

Jewelry pins work well until it has rooted..

But it's gonna depend on the substrate you are using too.

Sounds like the seller may not be completely accurate then .

Or ask them how to use the toothpicks so that it works correctly.🤷

I think I used wire (like paperclips or picture wire) bent in a U shape to anchor it or a couple small pebbles just placed on a clump. Whichever I did worked...until I added a tiny BN pleco fry...It took a week or so until he plowed into it & it was filter fodder. I think corydoras or other fish might do that too...But it was a very cute plant "cushion" while it lasted.

I can't think how a toothpick would work...stab it into a root mass & hope for the best? It might work...

dougall, what are jewelry pins? All I can think of are fancy bobby pins...but neither hairpins or jewelry are something I can picture...Is this 1 of your British expressions? Sorry

They are little pins that are used to hold jewelry to the velvet pads in stores.

For example - Rosenthal Collection U-Pins, U Shape Jewelry Display Chain Pad Showcase (Pack of 100, Gold) https://a.co/d/aW02wp4

Same sort of thing as cutting and bending a paperclip, but small and already made.
