i understand how horrible it that the koi died and everything, but $25-30k to replace them? really? and i hate to sound heartless (even though i do) but now they're asking for donations for their 'replace the koi' fund. when you (as a person or as a club/group) own fish that are worth THAT much money, does it not occur to someone to get insurance on the fish, especially since some of them were award-winning specimens? we're not even talking about pet insurance here, i mean REAL insurance.
