You should add buffers or additives ONLY IF YOU NEED TOO...Your water test results will tell you if anything needs buffering...never just use it..And, of course, if you do use the above, ensure you have a relevant test kit for buffer or additive used...

i personally woulndt use that product for what u need...just a nice salt like reef crystals should be just fine for what u need and to regulate the ph and calcium if u need to there are a few 2 part solutions that work better.
