Need a powerhead for a smaller tank

Coupla-three thoughts...

Biofoam sponge filter (with the 90 degree outlet)
I have one of these in my 10G RCS tank...if you point the inlet opposite the outlet, you get gentle circulation.

HOB filter on end of tank...plumb the inlet down to the other end. Works great.

Penguin 660R powerhead with a light dimmer on it? I wonder if that would work.

I have one of the cascade internals as a backup for my small tank/qt. They work great and are super cheap, the 300 is under ten bucks, have adjustable flow and they come with a tiny spraybar! very cool. They look like they could be modified to fit a lot of needs, just stick a small sponge on it and turn it into a PH.

i use an aquaclear 20 in my 14 gallon fish tank. they are for sale on ebay for 12 bucks with shipping, brand new of course. works good and the fish like the current. i got a sponge on the end of it.

I ordered the koralia nano...Drs F&S had it on sale for just over $20 so with shipping it was right back up to the regular price. I hope it works.

jpap. i run several koralias in my marine tank.. my only issue is..i should have gotten the larger ones.



they are fairly gentle given the amount of water they move.. it does seem to be more broad in the pattern of dispersal which seems to help.

I have a K Nano and a K1 in my 10gal frag tank. It might take some tweaking to get the flow pattern the way you want it, but a nano should be just fine in a 15gal.

Well...

I got the ph today and the flow was just too powerful. My tank became a whirlpool.

I tried a bunch of different angles and positionings and I found the best spot was aimed directly and a large clump of java ferns. But it was still on the heavy side so I might end up running the ph on a separate timer. That would allow for things to get mixed up during the day without sending my fish on a death ride...

240 gph in a 15 gallon tank....

just get a pump around 120 gph...

Maybe you can attach a sponge to the end of it somehow. I reduce the flow out of my nano-filter by placing a sponge over outflow of the filter. Could it be possible to rig up and attach some foam/sponge to the front of the korolia? That's if you don't care how it looks in your tank lol.
