I am still looking at options. I haven't completely ruled out the av filter.
Rjl, you mentioned you somewhat modified a sand filter. I am presuming that was a pool filter that you changed the media in.
I also was looking at skimmers as I think my waterfall bed will be useful for bio filter as well. We will have a bed of gravel at the bottom of a clay pot that is tall (18") with a the waterfall outlet about 4" above the bottom. A plant will grow out the top.
Also there will be rocks the water goes down for the wf. Also, I was looking at the savio skimmers and bio filters. Have anyone had any luck with those?
