looks amazing i've always loved mettle rimed tanks, i have a little 4 gallon mettle rim that house the my sisters Betta. i think with something that small you shouldn't worry about the bottom, if it was a bigger tank i might be a bit worried but with 5 gallon not so much.
I also buffed up the metal a bit and it looks a little better. I found a 16" full incandescent hood at the pet store. It hangs over the side edges a little but doesn't look too bad. I got a CF light to go in it and I'm thinking about spray painting it silver to look like the tank. Should be fun
