Hello all, I recently joined and have been reading the forums while I have downtime at work, I have found some great info in the past few days and I am happy to join the discussions here, as well as get some feedback on my tank(s). I am a little over a month into my first tank and the second one is now in place and empty, heres what I have now:

20gal -- 3 Giant Danio - 1 Blue Dwarf Gourami - 1 Pink Kisser Gourami - 1 Opaline Gourami - 1 Red Wag.

10gal -- Empty.

If you wanna know their names I will list em with photos, I have a great camera and am fortunate to have some great pics of these fish, I have some killer up-close shots.

My main questions currently are about upkeep and I'm interested in my second tank as a breeding setup, reptile home, or possibly a blacklight tank with glo-fish (are they inhumane? longterm effects?). Cant wait to get into the proper threads for all this! Glad to be on AC.

Welcome to the hobby! Is that your first tank? Looks pretty nice!

A couple of thing in response:

Firstly, are you planning on stocking more fish in your 20G? Youre pretty understocked from what I can tell now. What kind of Danio's do you have? Danio's are schoolers, and are best when kept in groups of 6 or more, if you can.

Secondly on glowfish: For more information on them go to glowfish.com: http://www.glowfish.com/

I'm on a few other message boards as well, and there is a good conversation about the ethics of genetic alteration, dying...etc. It focuses mostly on the genetic alteration, which is how glowfish came into existance. It is done while its still an egg, before its fertilised. Some have major issues w/ that. Personally, I dont. Its slightly altering genetic code BEFORE an egg becomes a life. The fish suffer no ill effects from it, unly post birth chmical/ phyisological changes such a "dying" them, or surgical alterations. I find both of those inhuman and un natural.

Here is the links to those conversations:

I use the same, or almost the same username on most boards, so my replies should be easy to pick out.

Good luck! Let us know what you decide to add to your 20G and what you plan on doing with your 10! Enjoy the forums!
