I've used the Nutrafin Plant Gro Co2 system with excellent results now. This is the one I am talking about.

The little refill packs are quite expensive for what they are. One (activator) is obviously yeast, and the other one (stabilizer) looks like baking powder or baking soda.

Does anybody have a good DIY "recipe" for this system, including quantities?

Thank you.

Easy

1/4 teaspoon baking yeast
1 teaspoon baking soda

Same amount of sugar and water as the bottle says. Lukewarm temp on the water, not really warm, not realy cool.

You might want to experiment a little. I have two of them and I found that 1/2 tsp yeast and skip the baking soda altogether worked best for me. Also I crammed in 1 1/2 cups sugar and the rest water.
The more yeast you use, the more bubbles per minute you will get, but it wont last as long. More sugar makes it last longer.
You have to find a happy medium that you can live with.
