I've been sent from rainy Scotland (which is actually having sun now that I left) to the Gulf Coast of Texas to work with my supervisors friend. It's been exhausting and I get my first day off in almost 2 weeks tomorrow, but it's so gorgeous I don't care!

Loving the pics and by the way welcome to the US. How long are you staying? Any fishy travels planned with your supervisor friend? It's always nice to have a reason to travel and there's no better reason then work or education.

Well, I'm from the Seattle area, so its welcome back to the states lol. But I've never been to Texas before so its cool to be able to.
I'm here until June 30th, I got in on Memorial Day. We're heading to San Marcos on Sunday for a conference and there will be some fishing expeditions when we get back that I'm looking forward to. There's an aquarium somewhere that I may try to find and visit if I get another day off.

Lol, Sorry, welcome back. So you get travel with some decent down time; good it gives you a chance to recover before the next adventure. Remember to take lots of pics. It's always my biggest regret, I never take enough. And remember to share. Hope you have a great time and pick up some great stories and experiences.

It was a long month in the TX heat. Lots of science, a great conference and some fishing on the pier. Research ate up all my time and I wasn't able to explore much, but here are some pics (not me in the fishing pics, but my collaborater). I'm now back in the UK, I had 2 days before I left for a conference in Brighton where I am now. May have some pics of that in a few days.
