I have 3 feet tall tank.. I don't have very thick firm gravel.. It is aquaclay as seen in images below..

My plants grow well but they come out of gravel due to not thick gravel..I don't want to change gravel as that will involve total rebuild of tank floor..
Can I tie plants bottom to some metal when I put the plant in gravel so that plans stay on bottom due to metal weight? Is that a good practice?
