Please Help Choose between Two Batta Tanks

i too would go for a minimum 10 gallon. quite often the 10 gallon tanks at stores are cheaper than the cute 'designer' tanks that are in the 2 to 8 gallon range. if you don't need to buy a new filter, light, and/or heater, i would go with a plain 10 gallon with glass lid instead.

You could probably find a ten gallon used for like 5 bucks on craigs list. But out of the two you listed I would definitely go with the bigger foot print.

I would go as big as you feel comfortable with (budget and space). I find that a bigger tank for my Betta has resulted in less work keeping the tank in prime living condition.
