You mentioned the hurricane and the East Coast... I was about 6 weeks into a fishless cycle that wasn't coperating (long story)... I had a bacteria colony going, but was waiting for the Nitrites to dissapear when the hurricane hit... I was without power for 6 days... I didn't even have any fish, and I was freaking out... All I could think about was loosing 6 weeks of tending to bacteria...LOL I have a small inverter i used in conjunction with a battery to run the pump and air for about 20 mins a day... saved the colony and now have a healthy tank... If I had fish... I might not have been so lucky... :nilly:
