thanks for the complement, yeah it is fun to build them, but its also a mess. This one is going to stay as it sits for a while, just more plants, then eventually critters added as its built right now its light weight, easy to move (im still in college so it has to come home with me for the summer and then move back for my last semester in the fall but then about 6 months later moving to my perm. residence after i move out of my parents house. )

You should look into a product called Hydro-Balls. It's made to lay on the screen and under substrate and creates a natural filter.

If your are intrested in Hydro Balls but don't want to chuck out a lump of money to get enough substrate for what you need you should look at Hydroton. Its exactly the same as Hydro Balls and about 1/3:y220e: the cost because it is made for hydroponics, and people buying mass quantities of it.
