Sand Substrate or Gravel Substrate?

Sand. If you have a small plant, like Dwarf Hairgrass, you can suck it up if you're doing a gravel vac. With sand, the poo stays on the surface and you can float your vac over it so it takes out the lighter than sand poop.

Annyone have pics for comparison purposes? I haven't seen a sand freshwater planted before

it really depends.... its just what you like any of them can work if you want.
