Great story! I think as tropical fish keepers we emphasize the exotics and ignore these little treasures. It's cool that they were both in the business too!

I think the quote they mention of the gov't poisoning the water for trout fishing is pretty telling. I wish them all the luck in the world in hope they can make a big difference.

Although govts no longer use the poison they do continue to stock the non-native species and so continue to perpetuate the damage.
