Okay, I've completed my stocking list for my 40 gallon. 4 or 5 blue/green chromises, 2 tank raised percula clownfish, 1 neon goby, 1 cleaner shrimp, 3 or 4 pajama cardinals, 40 blue legged hermit crabs, and 3 or 4 turbo grazer snails. And 1 or 2 other types of small inverts. Is this too many fish and inverts? Are there any other fish I should choose over another?

I'd say it's too many fish I'd either do away with the chromis or the cards or reduce numbers of both. The inverts shouldn't be much of an issue as they don't produce as much bio-load as the fish.

IMO 1-2 chromis (you will most likely end up with this number anyway)
