Seems like I've heard of something called a stone cat or possibly a Madtom. living in fresh water rocky streams. They carry a toxin gland at the base of the fin(s). Don't panic just check the State wild life web site for native fishes. This info may be a little off because its from memory but it may give you another place to look.

If it's Hara Jerdoni (scientific name)

you have, then it won't reach over 2 inches. They are a quite small, dark, shy fish, and therefore not overly popular w/ the majority of aquarists. Mine stay hidden most of the day, but occasionally I'll seem the stray lazily across the tank. I have a pair, but they do not seem to overly enjoy each others company(i.e. cories) or bicker w/ each other. Any more ?s or is your fish a Hara jerdoni for sure? Stone Cat if probably a very loose common name.
