I never see a light hood with incandescent lamp?

Score it and then snap it off, get some fine grit sand paper (320 to 400 grit) and give the edges a good sanding. It should look good as new.

I have perfecto lights made for 20l/29 and they rest very nicely in the lip of the tank...
that actually looks like a 20l/29 light sitting in a 36" bracket for a 30 G

I think Perfecto screwed up and put the wrong litho on the top of the box. This made the hood look like a 30" when it really is a 36". The litho on the side is correct and seems to match what is actually in the box.

I haven't tried it, but the strip-light is 28" long and the inside dimension of my 20L is 29", maybe 28.5" accounting for the inside lip. I'd think the light would fall in making a versa-top required.

I did get a reply from DFS this AM. They're going to send me a pre-paid UPS label so I could return it if I want to. I did save the casket sized box-o-packing peanuts it came in.

I wound up just sending this fixture back. DFS emailed me a pre-paid UPS shipping label. Packed it back in it's original packaging and off to my local UPS store. Real easy. Kudos to DrsFosterandSmith.
