Anyone use a utility pump in there salt water tank ?Im talkin about the ones that are made to just pump water (out of a basment) or what ever .

are you talking about a sump pump / utility pump? if so arent those like 400 G.P.M pumps? haha trying to simulate shallow water hurricane turbulence?

Well, that particular one isn't that big... only about 1000 gph.
Personally, I'm not sure I'd want to put a 15 lb pump with an aluminum housing in the sump of my saltwater system. One thing to note that is important -- according to the specs on the HD website, it has a maximum operating temperature of only 77*F (but it does also say it has a minimum operating temperature of 77*F, so who knows how accurate that is). The majority of saltwater tanks are run warmer than that.
