I plan on placing LR rubble and maybe live sand but what is micro algae ? is it something you buy? and if so where?

Online, cheato is most comon, do a google and see what would work best for you. I am not well versed in macros.

Germanman should come to the rescue, from what I read hes a studing for Marine Bio ( pretty cool career!) . I was thinking though the best combo to ever own a fish tank is if you we an election / plummer, they know ever trick of the trade.

Here are the two online meanings...

microalgae: small microscopic aquatic photosynthetic plants that require the aid of a microscope to be seen.

macroalgae: large aquatic photosynthetic plants that can been seen without the aid of a microscope.

Macro algae can either be brought from ebay, a local fish shop or a fellow reefer who cultivates this in their sump..
