Not an issue. Rinse away with either old tank water or tap. The amount of bacteria present on that sponge won't hurt anything with 100 lbs of LR. If you want to save the pods, pluck them off and drop them in your tank/fuge before you rinse it. SubRosa may be right about the pineapple sponges too. Don't worry you will have lots more pods and sponges come and go.
