what is a good price for rummy nose tetras

whats a good price for a order of 20-30 rummynose tetras sp hemigrammus Bleheri from a LFS?

i was thinking around $2 a piece... let me know what you think and what the prices are in your areas

Most tetras in my area range from about 1.50 - 3.00. For an order like that of rummies, I think $2 would be fair. At least, I feel I would pay that myself and be comfortable with the price.

That is about fair---but if I was buying that much would ask for a bulk discount.
Maybe like $50+ for 30??

The more common tetras seem to be cheaper. The Black Phantoms and Peppermint Tetras seem to be around $5. In my LPS, they charged $2.50 for the Rummynose Tetras.

ya 2.50 is what we charged for rummies too where i used to work but if you but we did 3 for 6 so multiple's of 3 thay where $2

The only place around here that has rummys charges $5.99 each. There's a place about 1 1/2 hours away from here that has them for $2.50.

yeah the fish shop i stopped by yesterday had them listed at $4.99 a piece but when i started to talk to the woman there she said she could give me a better price for a big order like that so i will hope for around 2 bucks a piece but im thinking its going to be a long shot

I agree. I hope you get a nice school and that they do well for you. They are my favorite schooling fish!
