Eheim is much more pricy than the competition, even a Fluval canister, but sometimes you get what you pay for. That said, the Marineland C 360 is, judging by the shapes of every single piece I've been able to lay eyes on, a pricier version of the Sun Sun HW-303 or Aquatop CF400UV, with the exception of the "lesser" brands having a UV filter. Disregard the existence of the UV, as the GPH renders it useless for anything other than green water. So, I think the CF400UV is available on Amazon for $100, and the C 360 is about $200, so with 30% off, that puts it at about $140. I don't know what media it comes with, but I used some bonded filter pads (Marineland brand, coincidentally, that I bought before I bought my CF400UV) and cut them to shape for 2 additional pads, and a package of the ceramic bio media. The C-360 pads are the same exact size/shape of the ones that come with the CF400UV, which came with 2 fine filter pads. I also bought a Purigen 100 ml pillow from Amazon, instead of using carbon.
