Woke up to dead fish......

ammonia -- 1ppm ( i'm having a hard time getting this level down )

Nitrite -- 0 ppm
Nitrate -- 5.0 ppm

You got water from the LFS? I would not want to add that to a tank myself. Water does not have any of the bacteria you need in it. Just do daily water changes,and add Prime until the cycle has completed.
It's chloramines. You're getting a false ammonia reading from it. If you are dosing Prime, your fish are safe and the fact that your pH is slightly acidic, also dictates that your fish are safe. Ammonia becomes less toxic in acidic conditions. Give your biofilter some time to catch up and you'll be fine.

Congratulations to everyone who worked through this and Ballyhoo you did the right thing asking for help. Proud of you for swallowing your pride to save your fish. You're going to go far in this hobby I can see it already.
Just wanted to update that my cycle is nearly finished and all the fish survived
The big one that I had put in the bucket and then eventually back in the tank is doing swimmingly ( see what I did there ) Everyone is alive and happy
