Here is my original post (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?261179-Questions-concerning) about my tank set-up. I'm looking for a canister filter for my 20gallon high, anything with good filtration for this tank as I have it a little overstocked (as per "inch per gallon" rule). That is, only when the albino bushy reaches his 5 to 6 inch max size (hoping to upgrade to a 40 breeder by then). I'm looking for a filter for around 50 bucks with shipping.

So it sounds like you will need a canister filter for the 20 gallon. Or do you want something that can handle both the 20 and 40 gallon?

I had an Eheim 2236 on a 29 and loved it. It would also be plenty for a 40. or a 2217, either would work..

Yes, if at all possible, it would be nice to have one that isn't to powerful for a 20 but I can eventually put on a 40 gallon.

I have a marineland,I think c130 cut the hoses and almost started to use it in one of my 20 gallon tanks and reverted back to an aquaclear instead.

Let me know if you're interested,

If Kakashi isn't interested, I am.

But isn't it a C-160? I think that's the smallest Marineland canister filter.
