also, someone clear this up here for me, the secret identity has to be a special role? It cant just be a normal mafia?? i was under that impression that a mafia was a special role, but maybe not?

That makes no sense.
 
Doesn't matter if DD was the Don or if JM or CL#2 were the Don, they were obviously killed at some point during the game for the game to be still going on. We shouldn't get hung up on this though, we should focus on who is still alive and Mafia. Tomorrow Night we will know if DD was a Secret Identity. If not the Don is dead.
