I agree.
I have a Cockatiel,Blue & Gold Macaw and a Red Bellied parrot and would not allow any of them to drink the water,or even want them bye an open tank for the fear of drowning.
I have covers on all m tanks
Ok is it bad for my cockatiel to drink the water out the fish tank!!

My GF has a pair of Tiels and she says ANY chemicals (like those in dechlorinating additives) will be bad for the birds.
If it is bad for the birds or other animals, then why is it not bad for the fish
Thats like asking if we (humans) can drink chlorinated water why can't the fish ?
Totally different body systems.
I'm reasonably sure I don't want to drink the Benefical Bacteria in Aquariums either
Also birds hide problems/symptons very well. When a bird shows some sign of illness,it has usually been sick for awhile and needs immediate attention.
Again,your bird should not be around an open tank,,,,but it's your bird
