Awww - thanks Kim. We plan on a day trip to San Diego this weekend. Steve's off work again with a knee injury this time. He will be having surgery soon, and he want's to get some riding in before then, because he won't be able to ride for quite a while afterward. (a few weeks at least)

Ah, too bad for him...bet it wont stop you j/k...just get a sidecar for him with holes for his legs to stick out of so you can still go on the road trips...heehee

The winter I wouldn't worry about it - but it is HOT here right now - we're talking over 110 F - I'm afraid it would be too hot in the bags.

We may just take you up on the tail of the dragon after steve's knee heals

Well, just came back from a 4 hour ride up the mountain to Idyllwild and back down through Banning. I'm a bit saddle sore!!! Taking tylenol and getting ready for our day trip to the coast tomorrow. Sure was nice to be in the mountains and away from the desert. you can feel the heat rising off the pavement down here. must add at least 10-20 degrees to the temp on a bike.

Did discover that the saddle bags don't get that hot. Kept a diet coke reasonably cool for a couple of hours.
