What type of skimmer do you use?

I have a prizm and it sucks, no surprise, but I got it for free. The time has come to get something new because its just to hard to keep dialing in all of the time, and it leaks.

Someone I know recommended a Sea Clone, have any of you used one? Its for a 45g tank.

Hang on. Why no sea clone? I've heard that there not the greatest but no one has said why.

-deltec hang on (pricey)
-bak pak or knock off aquatraders.com

There are very few people who are happy with there seaclones. I personally bought one prior to the reviews and got to find out for myself. They are very difficult to adjust and will constantly spew microbubbles into the tank. I returned this and ended up with another problem child, the coral life super skimmer. This one is a tad finicky but works good overall.

I have a HOB Coralife Super Skimmer, and it is a bit touchy initially. But once it was dialed in, it has been pretty stable. I like it and I think it works pretty well, but as a newbie I have nothing to compare it to.

There's a thread somewhere that Niko started the other day about Seaclone... with people's thoughts on why it sucks..

Also consider Remora. I believe Urchin is the in-sump, but they also have hang on back, too. It's bit more pircy but I heard it was worth it for the most part.

What about those Odyssea Pro Pack skimmers? I also saw on aquatraders that they have a 14" hob refugium with a skimmer built in. Anyone have any input on them?

Lifereef skimmer - comes in HOB or standalone or in sump.
