We have more vehicles than children.... autos and manuals. The vehicles, not the kids.

auto + big stall = fun

my trans am is an auto with a 3000 stall and im fixing to put a 4000 stall in it this summer. my focus is also a auto b/c its easier to drive in stop and go traffic. i use to drive a manual jeep wrangler about 5 years

I'm trading in my 6-speed manual Wrangler Rubicon tomorrow for a different car with 6-speed automatic. I'm sure it will take some getting used too with the "shifting."

No more M/T's here. I like the new technology of A/T's. 5-speeds in my Hondas, and now the more reputable foreign makers are coming out with 6-speeds.

LOL, I drove M/T's for so long, when I got a truck with an auto, I found myself reaching for that "non-existant stick shift" for the first week. :hypnotized:

I'm impressed with all the responses for a manual transmission. I wonder if we have a lot of Europeans voting throwing the results off. I know 40% of americans dont drive manuals.

Both our daily drivers are stick shift. Thats the main reason we ended up buying the Nissan Xterra - one of the VERY few SUVs that you can actually get with a stick shift. We actually have 2 pickups that are auto, but the only thing they're used for is towing horse trailers so thats preferable anyway.

i think i mentioned this a while back.. but i do the same thing, and i also end up jamming my left foot on the brake when i go to start it for the clutch.. lol.

heh...I've come close to causing accidents by slamming on the brakes while trying to downshift an auto for a turn.
