Ok, after looking around I'm now thinking of setting up a nano tank but I've never touched salt water and would love to know what equipment I would need, water additives, stocking etc!
I'm looking at a 12 to 15 gallon set up with just fish and live rock.
If anyone can point me in the right direction as how get started in s/w I would be most greatful.:help2:

nanos can be hard ti keep stable and typically aren't recamended for SW beginners but if you want to the only skimmers iv seen for small nanos are here http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=10677 they also have coral packs specifically for nanos, nano live rock, and a section of fish for nanos on that website. if you only want fish and live rock all you should need is a good salt like instant ocean added to the water.

nano skimmers are a POC i have one on my biocube and it never pulls skimmate i have adjusted it and played with it forecer

i set a 12 gal nano and i have a 30 gal tank both salt water. if you want to set one up i would go with the current usa aqua pod it has a better review the the nano cube. thats why i got it. get about 20 to 23 lbs of live rock or your could do 15lbs live sand and 15 to 20 lbs live rock thats what i did. get rid of the bio ball in the filter and replace them with live rock rubbal. get a good test kit like instent ocean and a deep six hydrometer or insten ocean hydrometer the some salt i ust instent ocean. also i heater and and temp gage to tell you what temp you arte at. and thats it all but fish shrimp crabs and snails or corals that you want to add. i like my nano it is one of the easyest tanks ive had and it works great and looks good to.

sorry about all the spelling mess ups i sent it befor i looked over it. any other ? just ask and i will try to help you out

cheers jowek, do you have any pictures of your 12 gallon and a list of what you have stocked in it?

also if you never tested your water befor you might want to do that befor you set up a tank and if waters bad get a r/o unit

with it being a small tank I was looking at buying ready prepared water from my LFS which would be the same place I would buy the fish and live rock
