wen i got home from skool there was only six alive in my 4fter tank then later two were floatin around half alive i put them in a seperate tank. they had scars from my zebras killing them all of them had wounds. i am relli annoyed and ****#d off. only 2 red top zebras abd 2 obi zebs left, my favourite zebra which looked like a demonsai died. arggghhh . not a happy chappy. one other zebra looks to be recovering and one hongi looks to be ok. i might euthanise the killer zebra. (suprise suprise it was the ugly obi zebra.

wat could have triggered this massacre the readings are ammo. 0 trite 0 trate 15 the lived together for so long. there was 8 zebras and 9 lombardi now 4 zebras. i am going to put my big red zebra in with them to put them in place. muahhhh try hurt him at 20cm hahahahahaha wooh wooh big red zebra .

Have you ever thought cichlids are unpredictable? I would never keep clown loaches with them.:shakehead:

Try a red devil, ive got a devil in with my zebra's, zebra's dont go near him.

so u think there is no reason at all just pure nature
Elementkid, you said you went home from school to see instead almost 90% of your stock dead. What time have you been away from home? What test kit did you use? Unless you are using test strips, the results are within your expectations and should not have killed all your fish. If the remaining four are alive, were they still doing well? If there was ammonia and nitrite intoxication, the remaining four should have died anyway resulting in total wipeout but should not be that quick unless the fish themselves were already severely weakened by other factors. If not, then chances are they are the culprits. Have you read threads lately in Cichlids section where people post their grievance about their kribs suddenly attacking and killing their own tankmates for no apparent reason? Well, that is my best guess.

Unless you are thinking of poison contaminants and other factors, I will not rule out psychotic behaviors of your four cichlids and will remain my best guess at the moment.

What about adding target fish? When my angels were young I had them in a community tank with mollys, guppies, plattys, tetras and some ottos and they thought it would be fun to chace them around. So I went and got 2 giant danios and 3 regular danios and after an hour of chasing them around they were so tired they left the other fish alone
