Red Tailed Shark tank mates

Africans prefer a higher pH and hard water, while RTS prefer a lower pH and softer water. Therefor these two types of fish are not compatible.

many fish can adapt to different ph ranges.

what other tanks do you have and whats in them? i really would move the shark first. they are very mean and will prob go after any other fish in the tank. also think a 20 gal is a little small for one.

There arent many africans that will live in a 20 gallon anyway.

Well...I have a 55g community, but don't think he could go in there... unless i move the little livebearers out and keep just the 6" angel, the 12" pleco and the shark in there....then I could move the other fish into the 20... that might work. Then again, I had a killifish that was aggressive toward other fish in the 20g, but when I moved him to the 55g, it's like he realized he was outnumbered and stopped picking on everyone.
