Grins' 55g Reef

Gorgeous colors Grins.. Very good choice when you selected that one.. BTW we found LaVerne a home..

Can you believe it.. She is going in a coral grow out tank all by her lonesome.. She gets the run of the tank and is going to end up fat.. The guys wife was so excited she almost cried.. I was happy.. Warned them up front about her aggressiveness and her tail eating tendencies.. They didn't care. Said if she didn't work out they have another tank they could put her in..

so grins....

how have you been dealing with your nudi issue???

it seems i have joined you....

i dipped my zoas and everything!!! but tonight i took a look at my tank and found a whole colony of zoas closed up!! there was a small dark reddish/brownish nudi on them.... needless to say, i made a FW dip with loads of lugols and took care of the punk....

i hope he was just a straggler and he was too injured to lay eggs lol..

what have you been doing to take care of yours?

Oh good! My favorite store for corals here (amazing store) has tangs in his frag tanks. He knows some consider it risky but he says the corals do better with the waste and movement. Laverne will be happy for certain.

Swearing a lot? Taking unmatched glee in flushing them down the toilet? :mad2:

I'm really doing the same as you, I'm keeping an eagle eye on them, giving them FW dips when need be along with scraping off eggs then and even using the turkey baster to suck out any adults I see. I was pissed seeing 2 more last night along with a new egg swirl. I'm not sure I'll ever be rid of them at this point and I want to kick myself for not QTing that first colony.

Time to run carbon...was walking by the tank and caught my featherduster spawning. Cool to watch and if I had another one in there perhaps I'd even have some babies. But right now all that will probably happen is it will tick off the corals.
