i am getting a 15 gal tank with 4 kuhli loaches and 4 panda cories. i was also thinking about getting a couple platies but does anyone have a better idea? and i really want to keep the kuhlis and cories in the plans. thanks

IMO, theres not much of an area to add any more than 4 khulis and cories for the bottom.

I'd suggest maybe trying out 1 or a pair of GBRs? Or maybe a small school of some type of tetras?

Depends what you like.

german blue ram.

some sortof top-level tetra might be cool. we've been really happy with our hatchetfish.

My rams tend to stick to the bottom half of the tank most of the time, and they can be (although aren't necessarily) a slightly fickle fish. A dwarf gourami or betta might make a nice addition that should stick to the top half of the tank. (Although my betta likes to play dead on the bottom of the tank... :P)

Rams hang to the bottom. Not a great idea in your setup.

I would suggest that if the cories and khulies are the main focus of your tank then why not get some worker fish like oto cats. Or else why not a single paradise fish. They swim all over, patroling the tank and get to be a few inches long.

I love kuhli loaches and corys, but I'd want something to inhabit the mid to upper level of the tank to make it more visually interesting. Platys would be a nice choice.Four to five would give you some activity and a splash of color.

And I agree with the poster above about needing plants for the kuhlii. Mine loved to drape themselves over the branches of the wisteria plants. :D
