Drip system filter help please!

I'm in Florida we don't have basements... :(

I think the only way I can really do is to drill a hole thru my wall to the outside world. It would be a 1/4" hole, stick my tube thru, then silicone the gap between the wall and the tube shut. I don't know what mom or dad will say tho...
 
PikeCichlid, what parts do you recomend I use for the filter?
 
Be careful about dumping water outside of your house like that. Having a hose constantly putting water around the perimeter of your house is the same as having a leaky gutter. There are no end to the foundation issued it can cause. Is there any way you can tap a drain line near where you are tapping the water line?
 
I agree with BB... not to mention always having a pond of standing water that will attract insects. Continuous "clean" water drains are generally against building codes since they pose threats to the home's structure.

You can possibly drain into a vent pipe or a nearby sink. If your tank is near a wall that has plumbing in it you are set.
 
Oh then I can probably place is directly under the kitchen sink. I hope that will work.
 
If you have a garbage disposal under your kitchen sink, you may be able to tap into it for drainage. Most disposals have knockouts to hook your dishwasher drain into it. This would be the easiest and safest way.

It does have a disposal. I'm not sure if this is right, but are you saying put my drain line into the disposal?
 
I wouldn't mess with your disposal, don't ever drill or connect anything into it. I'm not too clear why you need that drain anyway.. Also you might want to put your activated carbon before your bio balls because if what you say is right about the breaking down into ammonia, you'll want that to happen before it hits all the bacteria in your bio balls..

Where in Florida are you?
 
I'm in Davie, right outside of Ft. Lauderdale, near Miami.

Yea I would have the carbon before the scrubbies so the ammonia would be free by the time the it got to the bio chameber in the sump.
